MGM Grand Detroit to Host Series of WPT Qualifying Tournaments
Detroit, Mich. — Poker enthusiasts young and old will have the opportunity to show off their poker savvy for a chance to win a seat at the upcoming World Poker Tournament (WPT) Championship event at the Beau Rivage Resort & Casino.
Beginning December 6 through December 28, daily buy-in tournaments will be held on Monday’s (day) and Tuesday’s (evenings) at MGM Grand Detroit. The winner from each tournament will be invited back to play in the final table tournament on January 4. The first place winner of the tournament will receive airfare, hotel accommodations, $1,000 in cash, and a seat at the $10,000 WPT Championship event at the Beau Rivage in Biloxi, Mississippi on January 23.
As an extra incentive, to those players that are not invited back to play in the final table tournament, a wild card drawing will be held on the day of the tournament for another opportunity to secure their championship event seat and play amongst some of the nation’s best poker players. One entry will be awarded for every tournament a player has participated in and for any player that participated in all eight daily tournaments
