EXECUTIVE CHEF BOURBON STEAK - KEVIN HEE BIOGRAPHY

Bourbon Steak

It wasn't until after entering the University of Hawaii with a Business Major, Kevin Hee realized his true passion was in the kitchen. Working for Sam Choy to earn additional money while taking classes, Chef Hee became enthralled with life in a restaurant kitchen. He was inspired by how something as simple as a beautifully plated dish could create such happiness for a guest.

As Executive Chef of BOURBON STEAK Detroit, Chef Hee now oversees his own staff and creates memories for guests nightly at this Michael Mina restaurant. Chef Hee has worked with Mina for over seven years, gaining experience in the kitchens of NOBHILL TAVERN (formerly NOBHILL), MICHAEL MINA Bellagio and STRIPSTEAK, all located in Las Vegas. Prior to joining the Mina team, Chef Hee held many kitchen positions in Honolulu, HI at some of the most popular restaurants.

Born and raised in Honolulu, Chef Hee always goes back to his roots and the importance of food as a gather point for family and friends, and holds this philosophy true and in practice daily at BOURBON STEAK Detroit.
